Once ATSC 3.0 becomes more widely supported the broadcast towers are likely to move / spread out again but i think that's going to be many years from now. unfortunately, audio is all 2 channel stereo instead of mutichannel dolby surround but i will take picture and stereo audio over no picture. The nice thing about ATSC 3.0 is that HVEC is a much better codec over mpeg2, so the compression looks better, and all but fox are broadcasting in 1080p instead of 1080i, so the picture is much better. amazon has a liberal return policy, so you could always try it out and return it if it does not help. i've optimized my antenna for the 3.0 towers and get the strongest signal for all of them instead of having to split the difference between towers. My specific problem is airplane flutter but with the tuner above i am having my best results thus far. hdhomerun has apps for almost every platform, minus samsung TV. i personally am using the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Flex 4K network tuner and it has been working well for me. some of the latest and greatest TVs (particularly LG) have support but i wouldn't recommend a whole new tv just for this. The problem with ATSC 3 however is that not much hardware can decode it right now. this makes things less complicated for now since you can point your directional antenna right at all of them and UHF is easier to deal with than VHF Hi. as of today, all of the ATSC 3 signals are broadcasting from the same towers in white's creek and all on UHF. Not sure how much this problem is worth to you but all of the major networks are broadcasting on ATSC 3.0 right now as well as the older ATSC 1.0.
